Sobriety. Orgone Energy. Amethyst Crystals.

Some of you may or may not know this, but there was a phase in my life when I was very dedicated to my spirituality and attended church regularly. The years of heavy, heavy drinking pushed me further and further away from my “source” or my connection with God/Universe. I’ve explained in some of my previous blog posts about my history growing up with many healers in my family and always had that healing energy within myself. Now being sober, one thing I’ve wanted to focus on is my spiritual growth and getting back that connection with god/source/universe and also re-connect with the healing aspects of myself.

Even though I am getting close to 7 months sober, I am only just now pushing myself to do the things I need in order to get there. One of the biggest tools I have for this is meditation. Although I’ve known for a long time that this is what I need to do in order to make these break-throughs, I’ve had an extremely large spiritual block that has been difficult getting past.

I was recently gifted another amazing tool by a friend as a sobriety gift. It is a pyramid that contains amethyst and other materials that create Orgone energy. If any of you are familiar with the healing qualities of crystals you will know that amethyst harnesses some of the most powerful healing energy that can calm the mind, relieve fear/anxiety, help guide us to the depths of our truest selves and can spark creativity and imagination. For these reasons and many others, amethyst is extremely useful in assisting you in your addiction recovery and promoting peace and love in your life.

"It can help you think both soberly and critically about the situations you face, which will lead you to far greater success in handling them. It is worth remembering that Amethyst gained its name from the Ancient Greek word meaning “not intoxicated”. It was said to prevent against drunkenness, and that its bright colour came from the god of wine, Dionysus, pouring out his wine over a clear crystal in mourning. Because of this, amethyst has long been said to promote sobriety – both in the literal sense of preventing drunkenness, and in the metaphorical sense of developing an ability to think more clearly and not be clouded with emotion of any specific sort."

I’ve been using this pyramid in my meditations lately and truly feel that this will be the next step in expanding myself. If you aren’t familiar with Orgone energy, I highly recommend doing a quick Google search and learning a bit about it, or you can read more here:
